Starting April 1, 2024, the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN) & FareHarbor Connect (FH Connect) programs will merge under the FHDN.

Whether you’re looking for additional strategies to generate revenue or partner with leading OTAs, these two FareHarbor programs were designed to help you grow your business and make your day-to-day operations easier to manage.

The merging of these two programs gives you more opportunities to increase your visibility and bookings through affiliate partnerships. Keep reading for key details about this announcement and what it means for your business.

What are the FHDN and FH Connect Programs?

The FHDN and FareHarbor Connect are FareHarbor’s affiliate programs. Both help you manage your affiliate relationships by finding affiliates, automating contracts and invoicing, and managing monetary flows.

The main difference between the two programs is the flow of bookings and payments:

  • On the FHDN, bookings and payments are made in your Dashboard, and every month FareHarbor pays affiliates their commissions.
  • On FH Connect, bookings and payments are made through the affiliate’s website, and every month FareHarbor pays you your net rate.

Why Are We Making This Change?

We heard your feedback—(“Why do I need to sign up twice?” and “I thought I was already enrolled in that!”). So we sought to create a more seamless process for joining both programs under the FHDN.

Plus—you will earn even more ancillary revenue as an affiliate on the FHDN by having more tours and activities available to sell.

What This Means For You

If you are enrolled in either the FHDN or FH Connect program, there will be no action needed on your end. You will be automatically enrolled in the FHDN effective April 1, 2024. You will still be part of the affiliate program you signed up for.

If you do not want to be enrolled into the FHDN, please let us know by April 1, 2024.

Benefits of Joining the FHDN

  • Increase your bookings with more visibility to affiliates.
  • FHDN bookings are charged just 20% in commission, so potential new affiliate bookings will come at a lower cost.
  • FHDN bookings come in as regular online bookings, with next-day payouts and the ability to modify and cancel as usual.
  • Enjoy automated invoicing and affiliate payouts. We will invoice you for the 20% commission on a monthly basis and pay affiliates on your behalf.
  • Earn passive income by also becoming an affiliate on the FHDN which allows you to sell the tours and activities of other FareHarbor businesses in your area.

Benefits of Joining FH Connect

a drawing of a face

  • Increase bookings with added visibility to larger affiliates. This includes partners like Trip.com, Civitatis, Klook, Veltra, Virgin Experience Gifts, and more.
    • Please note: the commission for these large affiliates on FareHarbor Connect is higher than that of the FHDN, at 25%.
  • FH Connect bookings will work just like any other OTA booking. OTAs will be able to read what you make available on your website.
  • Enjoy automated invoicing and affiliate payouts, just like with FHDN. The only difference is that we will be paying your net rate to you monthly.

Use Affiliate Rules to Limit When Affiliates Book Your Activities

If you are concerned about opening your availabilities to more partners, we recommend utilizing our new affiliate rules feature. This tool enables you to control which affiliates have access to your items and availabilities, and when they can book. Learn more here
